Social media today is quite different to what it used to be 10 years ago.
To put it bluntly, you can say it has been turned over on its head.
Just this morning I saw a post on Facebook from 10 years ago. I distinctly remember taking the picture with a digital camera then connecting the camera to my computer with a cord to upload the photo to My Pictures!
Remember when we used to do that?
Well social media marketing has changed as well.
Remember when you just had a write a simple text post and drop a link to a simple landing page and you’d be making money?
Well if you’ve been traveling the journey of social media as I have you’d know that things have changed.
Principles may remain the same, but the type of content that users (your target) is consuming has changed drastically over the years.
In a nutshell – VIDEO is master of the social platform.
And not just uploaded videos like we did five years ago.
I’m talking LIVE video.
But the content is not just videos of yourself.
We now include things like animated quotes, video quote posts, speaker presentations, and the list goes on and on.
And while the video format is still relevant, what has also changed is the length of video for each channel.
Now video isn’t the only performing content type on social media, but it is the top ranking.
Check out the video below for all the content that is performing on social media today. You’d be pleasantly surprised at what is still relevant.
