Spotlight Friday – What I learned from….

Chef Katrina

Chef-Katrina

So I think I know and follow enough leaders, who have been instrumental in my journey thus far that I can have a spotlight Friday.

Why do I want to spotlight other leaders?

Well that should be obvious.

When you spotlight other leaders you’re telling the world that you don’t know everything.

And guess what – even this beautiful and charming engineer with two degrees does NOT know everything.

Much of what I know about online marketing came from learning.

But if we think about it,

Much of what we ALL know came from Learning it from someone else.

Whether it came from Isaac Newton,

Michelangelo

or Jesus

We all learned something from someone else.

You’re probably hearing a theme running through this blog post right?

Learn!

When you Learn something, you are obligated to teach it.

Most people think that they learn in order to do.

That is true.

That is the first step.

I don’t know how to do something, so I go and learn it so that I can do it.

But after you learn and do, you feel this niggling inside you to share what you just learned and implemented?

You almost feel obliged to teach it to others.

So I decided that one Friday a month I’m going to take the time to spotlight one Leader that embodies the Learn-Do-Teach model.

I’m going to highlight their example and I hope I’m following in their footsteps.

So

Who is Chef Katrina

Chef Katrina, has been one of the most influential leaders on my business!

That’s who she is!

I met Chef Katrina back in April 2014.

Now when I say met, I mean online – because we’re in an online business right?

So I met Chef Katrina through a system called Elite Marketing Pro. emp-logo-blog

She was just about to launch the first of the EMP 60 Day Challenges, that she and a business partner created.

All I needed to hear was the world challenge and I was in.

You see I’m very competitive by nature, that’s why I loved Track and Field (until too many injuries but me out of that  ‘career’ option).

Anyway – so Katrina was clearly a leader in the Elite Marketing Pro arena and I was happy to be in her elite circle!

Which we now call our Team on Fire (#empteamonfire).

From the 60 Day Challenge I learned all the basics of online marketing.

But was great about it was that you were given tools to use to track your progress for 60 days.

(you can have access to these tools as well when you join me in Elite Marketing Pro)

You were provided with weekly training on the basic strategies for online marketing

and we had LIVE question and answer sessions every week with the various presenters.

Everyone knows that the best value from trainers is when you can ask them questions directly

and the answer directly!

Now unfortunately the EMP 60 Day Challenge no longer exists. 🙁

But I did the challenge twice! Just so that I can internalize what the Chef was teaching.

So I’m able to teach.

Why ?

Because I did it for 120 day!!!

And I still do it everyday!

When I watched the first video I ever did for online marketing I mentioned something about habits. (which is actually right below)

[video_player type=”embed” width=”560″ height=”315″ align=”center” margin_top=”0″ margin_bottom=”20″]PGlmcmFtZSB3aWR0aD0iNTYwIiBoZWlnaHQ9IjMxNSIgc3JjPSIvL3d3dy55b3V0dWJlLmNvbS9lbWJlZC9QQjl4b2JhVDJJVT9jb250cm9scz0wIiBmcmFtZWJvcmRlcj0iMCIgYWxsb3dmdWxsc2NyZWVuPSIiPjwvaWZyYW1lPg==[/video_player]

I’m big on developing good habits.

I saw the 60 Day Challenge as developing a few really good habits.

Chef Katrina helped me figure out my passion

So during the 60 Day Challenge I began to follow Katrina.

Yes it’s called online stalking, but in a good way.

I wanted to learn more from her.

During the challenge I realized that I did a lot more blogging than video, or email marketing.

I realized that I liked blogging a lot.

Previously I had only played around with it.

But now I was seeing the potential for creating blogging into a real business opportunity.

So like any good student would do….

…. I raised my hand!

I said hey Chef! I want to really amp up my blogging.

So she said,

“Well then Hils you need your own real estate!”

I thought ,

“What the hell is the Chef talking about.”

We had a chat about what my vision was etc

And she sent me a link – this link

Then before the video was over I clicked – BUY NOW –

It was Chef Katrina’s blogging course – Blogging Ingredients.

You do not! want to see what my blog looked like before I purchased Chef Katrina’s Blogging Ingredients.

I took two weeks off all social media and business ….

I studied and implemented….

I studied and implemented….

By no means is this blog the finished product. ….

But even the Chef would tell you it’s a HUGE improvement.

So If you’re looking for a good course to teach you the basics and beyond in blogging

if you’re looking for something that will show you HOW and just tell you what!

Then Blogging Ingredients is for you.

I’m really happy that I came across Katrina through Elite Marketing Pro.

There are many other leaders who have been so instrumental in my journey so far. Next month I will highlight —–

The man that made me cry! Not once but TWICE!!!!

He has his hand in almost everything that is Elite Marketing Pro. So look out for next month’s Spotlight Friday!

Have a great day!
